The brief
The hall took the worst of a house with two dogs. The owners wanted something hard-wearing at coat height, and two doors that closed properly.
The awkward part
The original doors were not a standard size and the linings had moved. Panelling has to hold a level line even where the floor does not.
What we did
Panelling set out from a single datum line so the rails run level around the whole hall, with a wider top rail to take hooks. Doors were made to the openings and hung on new butt hinges; linings eased rather than replaced.
Finished
A hall that can be wiped down. Nothing here is complicated — it is just set out properly and finished neatly.

You don't need drawings or exact measurements. A few photos and a rough idea are enough to start.
