Fitted wardrobes, made to the room you actually have.
Old houses in the North East rarely give you a square wall. Fitted wardrobes are worth the money because they take up that difference instead of hiding it behind filler panels.
How we build them
Carcasses are made square in the workshop from 18mm MDF or birch ply, depending on the finish you want. Only the face frames, cornice and scribe pieces are cut on site, against the actual wall, floor and ceiling.
Doors are hung on adjustable hinges and set to a consistent shadow gap — usually 4mm. Getting all of them to hold that line is the slow part of the job, and it's the part you notice every morning.
Inside
Interiors are planned around what you own: long hanging for coats and dresses, double hanging for shirts, shallow drawers where a sloping ceiling drops, and adjustable shelving so it can change later. Oak-veneered or painted internals, soft-close runners as standard.
If you've bought a wardrobe interior system already, we'll build around it rather than talking you out of it.
Finish and price
Most wardrobes are hand-painted in a water-based eggshell in a colour you choose — we can match existing woodwork. Sprayed finishes are available for a flatter surface at a higher cost.
A single alcove wardrobe is a smaller job than a full wall with a dressing area, and the quote will say which parts drive the price. We'd rather explain that up front than surprise you.
