Not everything needs designed. Sometimes a door has dropped, a floor needs laid, or a bit of rotten joinery needs cut out and replaced properly.
Internal doors
Older houses rarely have standard openings, and linings move. We'll ease and rehang a door that's binding, or make one to the opening where a stock size won't work.
That includes new linings and facings, locks and latches, draught-sealing and fire doors where a room needs them — for example a garage conversion or a room off an integral garage.
Flooring
Solid and engineered timber flooring, laid with the right expansion gaps for a house that gets heated hard in January. We check subfloor level and moisture first and tell you if it needs work — laying good flooring over a bad subfloor is money wasted.
Thresholds, scotia, skirting removed and reinstated rather than covered with beading where possible.
Repairs and alterations
Rot cut out and pieced in, damaged stair nosings replaced, cupboards altered after a new boiler goes in, a worktop cut for a replacement sink, sticking sash windows eased.
Small jobs are genuinely welcome. They're often how people find out whether they'd trust us with something bigger.
